ABOUT JENNINGS BREWERY

Jennings Brewery is an independent brewery based in Cockermouth, Cumbria, known for brewing classic Cumbrian ales and preserving one of Britain's most cherished brewing traditions.

After operating as part of a larger brewing group for two decades, brewing ceased at the historic Cockermouth site in 2022. The closure was a huge loss for the town and for generations of loyal Jennings drinkers who had grown up with the brewery's famous beers.

In 2025, Jennings returned to independent family ownership and brewing resumed in Cockermouth. Using original Jennings recipes alongside carefully selected modern ingredients, the brewery is bringing classic Cumbrian ales back to life while beginning the long journey of restoring one of the UK's most iconic brewing names.

Alongside traditional favourites such as Cumberland Ale, Cocker Hoop and Sneck Lifter, Jennings has also embraced the future with its first-ever lager release, proving that heritage and innovation can sit comfortably side by side.

Whether you're searching for traditional British ales, independent brewery gift ideas or a taste of authentic Cumbrian brewing heritage, Jennings Brewery offers a unique way to explore one of Britain's great brewing success stories.
